Elaina is 8 months old today!

Growing up so fast!

This is what you have been up to:

You LOVE yogurt!
You do NOT like baby food.. You dont mind the fruit and some of the vegetables.. But you will not eat the meals.
Your a pro at picking up your finger foods and putting them in your mouth.

Still 6 month clothes
you can wave buh bye and clap your hands.
You are getting brave and trying to let go of things and stand for a few seconds on your own
Still not interested in crawling.. You hate to be on your belly
You are very alert and grabbing everything near you
You don't like strangers and still are very attached to mommy!
You went to the playground for the 1st time and loved the swings
You got 2 bottom teeth this month!

The 1st year of your life is just flying by!

For the past week or so its been raining, snowing and just yucky! Today is the fist time we have seen the sun in a while it seems.. Evan wanted to climb a tree and go for a walk so we did.. Elaina was so happy just sitting in her stroller watching her big brother running around! cant wait till she can join him :)

Evan had a birthday party with his friends at Michaels. It was cheap considering all the other places I had checked out.. 50 dollars for 2 hrs plus cost of the craft. which was 2 dollars a kid! Plus then I bought pizza but the pizza place did a discount for birthday parties at Michaels. Large pizza's were only 5 dollars.. NOT BAD! They decorated tee-shirts and painted sun catchers then had pizza, cupcakes, and ice cream.

EVAN'S FIVE YEARS OLD... wow!!

Five years ago today(seems like yesterday!!) I was induced and had a emergency c-section. Our little baby boy Evan was 5lbs 13.8oz 21.5". You entered the world so tiny, but you have grown so much. Your a loving BIG brother and like to help. You test my patience MANY times a day....but you are the best, most amazing, wondefull gift I could ever have received...I am so blessed to be your mommy and have you as my little boy!! :)

Elaina is 7 months old!

This is what you have been up to this month:

You are in size 2 diapers in the day and size 3 at night.
Your wearing mostly 6 month clothes but are starting to fit into 6-9month clothes also.
You eat 3 meals a day. and still nursing. cereal for breakfast mixed with fruit. Lunch is usually yogurt and some vegis and for dinner a meat and vegi.
Still sleeping 12 hrs or more at night . With 2 naps during the day
You still LOVE your Binky and just started trying to share it by trying to put it in my mouth every time I get close enough.
You hate being on your stomach. As soon as I lay you on your belly you flip over. I don't think you will be crawling for a while.. but that's OK!
You love to stand and your very steady on your feet. I think you are going to be a early walker.. Evan walked at 10 months
You like to be out and about.
You just started waving buh bye!
When we say "No No" you shake your head No
You love puffs
Your very attached to Mommy
You think your brother is sooooo funny!
You love your jumper and squeal with excitement when you see me setting it up :)

Happy 6 months Elaina Marie!

We have had a busy month of December and now things are just starting to slow down some :)

This is what you have been up to the past month:

You got your ears pierced with your little friends Ashley and they look so cute!
You love to be in your exersaucer and jumper-roo!
Your eating like a champ.. Your favorites so far are the fruits and the spinach!
You are 15.8lbs and 27" long
Starting to wear 6month clothes
You really like cats. Every time one of them walk near you try and grab there tail.
Your doing a really good job sitting up.. You still tip over a little bit sometimes
We recently got you a chair that hooks on the kitchen table and you really enjoy being at the table with us for meals. You smile and giggle at everyone and try and steal my food!
im so blessed :) you and your brother sleep about 12 hrs a night or more.
You were baptized on the 29th of December. After your baptism everyone came over to have cake!
You had your 1st Christmas and 1st New Years!

I can't believe you are a half year old!!.. I hope the next 6 months don't go by so fast!

I had a bathing suit a friend gave me new with the tags still on.. It was 3-6 months so I knew she would never be able to fit into it this summer.. So I just put it on to take some pics.. I love her little chubby legs! :)

It's still snowing out! :) We have almost 2 feet now and its not going to stop for about 3 more hours. Evan is so excited to go out and play with Daddy in the snow. Thank god we have a snow blower!

Elaina tried peas the other day for the 1st time and she did not like them.. We tried 2 more times thinking she would get use to them.. But everytime I put them in her mouth she starts to cry and shake her head. Im going to try carrots today. :)

David comes to MA one week from today! He has not seen the kids since the 1st week in September (except for web cam when its not acting up) .. Evan is so EXCITED to see his Daddy..and so am I!

We have been super busy lately and I have not been able to update much. Ill try and update more but we have a busy rest of the month.. parties, christmas, baptism, family.. and lots of other fun things! :)

Fall Fun

Fall is my all time favorite season of the year! I love the cool crisp air and all the colorful leaves. I love the pumpkin patches, hay rides, apple picking, candy apples, and the apple pies. Oh and of course Halloween and all the festivities! A couple days ago Evan and I headed out to the front yard to rake all the leave into a big pile so he could jump in them.. After we got out there he maybe helped for about a minute or so, then he found a big tree to go climb. He climbed way up and then was afraid to climb down. After about 15 minutes of giving him step by step directions he made it down :) Then he wanted to turn around and go back up lol.. Elaina sat in her stroller for most of the time chewing on her hands and smiling away! (she is getting 2 teeth by the way)

I think I heard Evan ask that about 50 times on Halloween! He was so anxious to get out and go Trick-or-Treating as I know all kids are. We were invited to a Halloween block party that started at about 4:30. We brought some YUMMY dirt cake I had made earlier and it was delicious! We headed out for trick or treating around 6:30. My mom, Kathy(Dave's mom), my brother Chris and his girlfriend Courtney all joined us! We walked around the same big loop that I trick or treated in every year when I was little.. I love our neighborhood! He had fun running from one house to another.. Lainey was great.. She slept for most of it.. Evan is already picking out his costume for next year! :) He asked tonight if we could go trick or treating again tomorrow haha.. These pics are not in order at all.. and I don't feel like moving them around ;)

Courtney and I took the kids to the pumpkin festival walk at the Roger Williams Zoo.. We waited an hour to get tickets and then waited another hour to get to the actual entrance for the pumpkin walk. But it was so worth the wait! I couldnt believe how many pumpkins were there.. Elaina stayed awake for most of it and Evan was busy running from one pumpkin to another. Except for when we went through a part where there was that smog smoke stuff then he got nervous... He is so afraid of all Halloween stuff which is a shock to me!

Here are some pics of the pumpkins we carved this year! Evan likes to watch us carve.. He wants no part in putting his hands inside the pumpkin! *some of them are blurry* Courtney made the boo pumpkin, I made the little monster and Chris made the monster looking out the blinds. After we were done we brought the pumpkins over to our neighbor to see which one he thought was the best. We didnt tell him which one we each carved... He picked mine as being his favorite!

3 months!

A little late.. but on the 9th Elaina turned 3 months old!!

This is what you have been up to....

You have a great routine! Wake up around 9am or later! At night you usually eat for the last time at about 7pm and stay up a little and go to sleep around 9 and sleep 12 hrs! I love it :)
Your such a happy baby! Hardly ever cry :)
You LOVE your Bumbo.
You love to be outside in the snugli.
You spit-up a LOT..

You have started to do a little giggle! Its the cutest thing ever!
You really like to be standing up looking around
Your eyes are changing from dark blue to light brown.
We go for a 3 mile walk every other night with Grammy and you stay awake and look all around the whole time with out making a peep.

School Days!

This is a little late.. but Evan started his 2nd year of preschool on the 14th! He goes 3 days a week from 8:55a-11:25a. He has the same teachers as last year. Mrs.Mickey and Miss Jenn! All the same kids too! He loves it and can't wait to go each morning. I can't believe next year he will be going to kindergarden. He informed me that he is NOT going on a big kid school bus.. haha we will see about that! :)

He also started swim lesson and munchkin cooking class at the YMCA. At first he cried going into both classes. But he is doing great now. He really enjoys cooking! The 1st week they made pretzels and last week it was apple crisp! yum

Elaina is 2 months old today! :)

This is what you have been up to!

- You would love to be held 24/7. You scream when you are put down but as soon as we pick you back up you are as happy as a clam! But you are getting use to the swing a little bit....

-You are a great eater. You are eating about every 2 hrs. We give you a bottle around dinner time and you drink about 6 oz.

-You think you big brother is the greastest thing.. Whenever he comes around, you turn and look at him with a BIG smile!

-Your really starting to enjoy your nice warm baths.

-Your a great sleeper! You eat around 9pm and sleep till about 6am. Then I feed you and you go back to sleep till about 9:30-10am :) :)

-You love tummy time.

-Your a great traveler! You did not cry once on your first flight! and it was 6hrs.

-You love your Paci.. But thats ok Id rather the paci over your thumb!

- Your going to be a ladybug for Halloween.. We call you Lainey Bug so its perfect!

Beach Bums!

Chris, Courtney, the kids and I spent the day on a private beach about a mile from Scusset Beach on Saturday. Scusset was FULL so Chris found a little private beach and it was really nice and quiet. I was afraid we were going to get towed because we parked in front of someones house and we didnt have a beach permit sticker on our car. But we were lucky and noone said anything :) I did real good keeping Lainey sand free. That was until we walking back to the car. I was holding her in the car seat and carrying a bunch of other stuff and my flip flop kicked up sand and it went right in her face :( Good thing she had her eyes closed! But it went in her mouth and all over her head and face. I was worried about her eyes but thankfully it didnt get in them. We rushed to the car and took off her clothes and had to pour water over her. She had sunscreen on so the sand was like stuck to her. But we finally got it all off. On the way home we stopped for soft serve, and that night for dinner we had chicken and corn on the cobb MY FAVORITE!

Saturday we headed to Kimball Farm for the day. .We got some yummy ice cream, played in the arcade, and watched the bumper boats.. We also went on a little hot air balloon ride. We went 300 ft off the ground and Evan loved it. There was a really nice view! You could even see Boston. :)

I can't believe how fast 3 weeks has gone by. Elaina is such a great baby. She hardly ever cries and just goes with the flow. We have been so busy lately since Dave has come home on leave. We have been going somewhere fun everyday!

Lainey had her 3 week Dr. appt yesterday and has gained a 1lb in a week and a half. The Dr. was happy about that. Ive been worried because i'm breast feeding and not too sure how much she is getting, and also she spits up alot after. But I guess shes getting enough :) She now weighs 7lbs 12oz and is still 21" ...and she sleeps about 6 or 7 hrs a night!.. Evan is a great big brother. He loves to give her kisses and hugs ALL the time. I thought he would be a bit jealous because for 4 years I gave him all my attention and now I have to share that.. But he is doing great!

On Tuesday July 7th I went for my weekly OB check-up.. The Dr. checked me and said I was about a 1/2 centimeter dilated. So she did a sweep and said I had a 50% chance of going into labor within the next 48 hrs! So Wednesday came and I woke up with a rash all over my chest wrapping around my ribs on one side. I called the Dr. and she suggested I go to the local hospital incase it was something dangerous to women newly pregnant. So 5 Dr's looked at it and they all comfirmed I had shingles! But I was far enough along it wouldnt effect the baby. They gave me a antiviral to take 5 times a day for a week. I had to stay for a hour at the hospital for them to monitor the baby just to make sure everything was ok. Before I left I asked them to check me and see if I was dilated at all... They did and I was 1cm.. We left there and headed to my moms to pick up Evan and take him swimming at the YMCA. I started having cramping on the way to go swimming but I just thought it was cramps. But while sitting there watching Dave and Evan swim it got a little worse. I told Dave we needed to leave because I wasnt feeling well.. When we got home the contractions started to get worse so I called me Dr. and she told me to come in when they were 3 minutes apart for 1 hr. So I did that and got to the hospital and again I was only 1cm.. I was so upset because they were so painful and I had so much futher to go.. She gave me some ambiem to sleep and sent me home.. It didnt work at all just made me feel drunk. The contractions got worse all night and finally at 6am I got up to go to the bathroom, lost my mucus plug and then my water broke. We them left for the hospital they checked me and I was 3cm so I went to the labor and delivery room and waited for the Dr to come in. I got a epidural right away incase I needed a c-sections since I wanted to try and have a VBAC and I DID NOT want to be put to sleep like last time. The epidural was great I didnt feel anything until I was 6cm and the dr. decided to give pitocin to make my contractions more regular.. Then I was in so much pain and the babys heart rate kept dropping so they had me go on my hands and knees and rock.. I did that for about 10 minutes and then suddenly felt like the monitor they had on her head was about to fall out of me. My nurse told me that I was fine and I was only 6cm 10 minutes ago and that nothing was falling out of me.. I insisted to her it was and she finally said lay down and I'll check but its only been 10 minutes since the last time I checked you and you were only 6cm.. Well when she checked she said oh my gosh you right the babys head is about to come out.. She quickly paged the dr and was running around trying to get things set up. I was getting scared because the babys heart rate was dropping real low and the dr. was taking forever to come into the room. .The nurse said ok Lindsey we are just going to deliver this baby with out her. So I started to push and finally the dr. walked in and after 2 pushes Elaina was born!! It happened so fast! She had a apgar of 7 and 9. She was born on 7-9-09 at 1:18pm 6lbs 14.8oz and 21" long. She looks just like her big brother! but she has lighter hair. She is doing great but has also developed a rash in the same place on her body as me! which is weird because if she caught the shingles they would be chicken pox on her since she has not had them and its the same virus. So now they are questioning if it is really shingles or not.. Ive seen 5 regular dr's, a infectious control dr, and 2 dermatologist and noone seems to give me a positive answer. Err. .But Elaina is doing great and she loves to eat..Im so glad I decided to do a VBAC. .It was soo worth it and I was up walking around about 45 minutes after she was born! Ill post pics when I get home I hope everything is spelled correctly my computer battery is dying I dont have time to proof read!

I had been trying to find someone to do maternity pics for me for a while.. I didn't want to go to a regular photo place like Target, Sears, or Picture People because they only take a few shots and basically there all the same. Don't get me wrong they do a great job. I usually go to one of them to get Evan's pics done. But I just wanted something outdoors and diffrent! So I was looking for someone to do them but everyone I came across online had a huge sitting fee and then the pics were so pricey.. So I asked my friend Kerri's mom to take them for me with my camera and they came out great! I'm so glad I didn't spend tons of money! THANKYOU LORI! (click the pic to make it bigger!)

Last weekend Evan, Kathy and I went to Newport for the day.. We went to the Navy base and got a couple things. Then we went over to the beach near the cliff walk where Evan flew his kite and played in the sand! After we went to dinner at Ruby Tuesdays! and then Friendlys for icecream :) On the way back I stopped at the bass pro shop to walk around for a bit. They were having a kids activity outside where they were letting them make smores! Evan made 2 of them but decided he didn't want to eat them. They have a woods trail out back so we checked that out for a bit, but then turned around because it was getting dark and the bugs were coming out! Here are some pics :) They are in backwards order opps.

Here are some pics from Friday and Saturday.. We have spent most of our outside at the playground and local airport.. It been sunny and in the high 70's :) Today we went to see the movie UP.. It was a really cute movie, but sad! Evan said he wants to see it again!!

When we went to the Willows Saturday Evan played lots of skee-ball.. It was one of the only things he wanted to keep doing in the arcade! When I got home I took a look at the pictures and could not help but laugh at his facial expressions! Take a look :)

Friday we went to the Natick mall to get my charm put on my bracelet that Kerri bought me for my b-day. Ive been trying to get there for some time now to get it done but I havent had a chance. They are going to mail it back to the house when its all done :) Then we went to Friendly's for dinner. Evan got his favorite dippin' chicken and he ate like a champ. So then he got to pick a ice cream and he picked the oreo sundae! If he likes something he can eat!! Then we went and stayed the night at Kathy's.

Saturday we got up, got ready, and headed to Salem for the day. We met up with Angela and Juliana and took the kids to the Willows.. Its a little place with cute rides and arcade games. Evan loves it! We then went to Rainforest Cafe. Evan has been there a couple times in Texas and when we went to Disney but he was a lot younger and im not sure he remembered it.. He had jurassic chicken and then lava mud for desert( pudding, oreos, and gummy worms!) We had a good time and he was great at dinner! We left there around 8:30 and he fell asleep on the way home.. I carefully carried him in and put his pj's on and he never woke up till 8:30am the next morning :)

Today I was trying to sleep in a little. Evan is a really good sleeper and usually if I tell him to lay down for a little while longer he will fall back asleep.. But today he was not having it! I turned on sponge bob for him and asked him to sit in his bed quietly for a little while. But he just wanted to chit-chat and ask 50 questions. So we got up had breakfast and headed to Medway to see David's grandma. After that we went to Ryan's family amusement to go bowling. Evan got a gift card for his b-day from his Auntie Chrissy and Uncle George and it was a crappy day so I figured we would go.. Evan and I both bowled and Kathy came to watch.. It was candle pin bowling so it was easier for him and me! .. Those other huge balls are so heavy, I can hardly pick them up. The score was 75(me) to 73(evan) and I was actually trying! Hes a good little bowler. After we went to Chrissy's and ended up staying for dinner, and had a good time playing with his cousin Sean!

<--- Kathy took this pic for me last weekend.. 33weeks.. ( I think I need a longer shirt! lol ) Today we spent 99% of our day outside! Evan loves being outside so he was in a great mood all day :) We woke up around 8-8:30 showered and headed to the bank. The whole way there Evan asked about all the stuff we could do outside today.. Momma can I play with my spider man squirt web thingy-- yeh you can do that. Momma can I throw Sammy his ball-- Yep! Can we go for a bike ride today?-- yes if your a good boy! and then he says oh oh Momma can we turn on the hose thing and I can spray you and we can chase eachother?? uhm.. no we cant do that! lol After the bank we came home and Evan asked if we could have a picnic with a blanket, but then changed his mind and decided the picnic table was a better choice. So we sat outside and he ate a ham sandwich with mustard, a string cheese and a bowl full of raspberries.. I had a uncrustable and maybe 2 raspberries.. The raspberries were all actually mine but he loves fruit and gobbled them up before I even got a chance! o'well. The news said it was only going to be in the mid 70's but it felt closer to 90! It felt like my skin was melting. Anyways we spent the rest of the afternoon in the back yard.. Evan played on the swingset and ran around after the dogs and I read some books I bought from borders and hung some laundry on the line. Then we went for a small bike ride. He has a batman bigwheel with sounds and stickers! He thinks its the best thing. After his little bike ride we had dinner chicken on the grill YUM! and I gave him a bath. And at about 7:45 he was out like a light! I love that the warmer weather is here so he can go outside and get all his energy out! I feel bad when its crappy out and hes boucning off the walls indoors getting into trouble! ..... ok im off to get a nice big icecream cone and watch some american idol with my mom! oh and 49 days till my due date!!!! :) Some pics below. click them to make them bigger :)I was going to add a video but it was taking forever to load ill do it tomorrow.. im off to bed . mommy look Batman ears!!!!!

I figured it was time to start a blog.. I've been wanting to do one for a long time now but never got around to doing it. I'm going to TRY to update every couple days. I hope to post allot of pics too so Dave can come online and look at them.. Its easier then trying to email pics to him.

Today was a boring day.. Evan and I both have colds. Yuck! I wish I could take some sort of decongestant but I know that I can't. So I've been taking Tylenol for my sore throat every 6-8hrs. But its not helping much. Evan is sick also but still has all his energy ugh. He asked to go outside today to play, but I said no because it was all wet out. He then said but mommy I do so much nice stuff for you and your not going to let me go out? I said I'm sorry Evan but its wet and going to rain all day we will go out tomorrow. He said well then i'm not doing anything nice anymore. I said what do you do thats nice? He said I play games with you, and I teach you the songs I learn at school..lol he cracks me up!

He loves school!! He asks everyday if he can go.. His last day is June 9th. I know he is going to miss it. He is getting his tonsils out on the 11th! They NEED to come out.. He has been having sleep apnea and every night I get up multiple times to reposition him to open his airway more.. The Dr. said that they one of the biggest he has seen for his age! Im really nervous about it. They said he will only be put to sleep for 20 minutes, but I feel so bad bringing him there knowing he is going to be in pain. I get to stay with him till he is put asleep. They will give him laughing gas first to relax him and then they will put him asleep.. I hope he does ok. I know he will...

Im now almost 33 weeks pregnant! I have felt great for the most part.. My only complaint is my hips and pelvis bone. They are killing me, and have been since ive been like 15 weeks. My BP has been great and ive gained 16lbs so far.. Im alot bigger with this one then I was with Evan. I actually look pregnant! I had a ultrasound last week and she has moved up from the 24th precentile to the 40th! They say she almost weighs 4 1/2lbs but im not to sure I believe that. They said Evan was going to be 7lbs and he was only 5lbs. She has turned and is now head down and looking great! So after talking to the Dr. I've decided im going to try and do a VBAC. But if I do not go into labor by a couple days after my due date I will have a c-section. The reason being Dave can only come home for a couple weeks, and since I had a c-section the first time they will NOT induce me. I'm so excited to have a little girl :) Ive had them check at every ultrasound to make sure she is still a SHE lol. Dave is coming home the beginning of July and I CAN NOT WAIT! :)
